“What is more important, following your dreams or following the rules of your society?”
In the world there are several different societies and cultures. One society that is distinguishable from any other culture is the Asian heritage. The author Amy Tan exposes challenges of being an American- Asian girl, who is raised by stern Chinese immigrant parents in the short story “Two Kinds”. In this short story Tan illustrates the protagonist who is fighting against her mother’s Asian immigrant dreams.
